After reading 84 of your back-and-forth comments, I think there could be SO much less blaming and rage-filled outbursts – which do not engage the reader in your cause. People actually listen more when everyone isnt screaming and name-calling. Instead, it would be encouraging to hear more constructive suggestions for solutions. Something more constructive and feasible than grabbing ones gun and running out to shoot folks, since, realistically, its not a viable alternative in creating positive change in a supposedly ethical/moral society. Of all the comments, I think Eric has presented the most thought-provoking and unifying comments. Eric seems to be interested in solutions rather than attacking, name-calling, and blaming. I am a moderate, and I also believe that there is blame for all parties. And I dont mean just political parties. I mean, the American people, who lived beyond their means for years, and some who were genuinely duped into thinking they could afford mortgages they couldnt. Americans who have brought up the entitled generation and lowered standards for them to pass to the next level, in whatever part of life that level is. Also corporate greed. There are few Americans who could escape some portion of responsibility in getting our country into its current crisis. Its like Jesus said, Let those who are without guilt, cast the first stone. NO ONE is completely guiltless. If we arent involved in some type of volunteer work to improve the situation of our families, of our neighbors, our communities, and our country, none of us are guiltless. A very bright friend of mine once said Counting stumps doesnt clear the field. In reading so many of these comments, I see lots of stump counting, but no one clearing the field. Are each and every one of you doing EVERYTHING in your ability in your lives to improve your communities, your government, your world? If not, please dont cast stones. Eric seems like hes doing his best to make an intelligent impact on the world and those around him. And you slaughtered him with outrage simply because he doesnt think just like you? And you speak of intolerance? What about your intolerance?

Do you wonder why Rohm Immanuel is taking the Blue Dog Democrats to the woodshed for an arm-breaking meeting? Many of the Democrats are not onboard this plan, and they are looking out for themselves in the 2010 elections .. Americans are rising up against this bill and Congress!! Any Politician who votes FOR this bill, will pay a price at the polls next year! Hopefully you watch TV and see how upset Americans are .. and they are NOT Manufactued, Astroturf citizens Were from all over the Country .. How can so many Patriotic Americans be so upset over this bill, you ask ? Because its akin to patient dumping . We will be told how to manage our healthcare by the Govt., instead of our Doctors and what treatments the Govt. will pay for .. So, if you need a hip replacement when youre 85, youre too old, and pain pills will be your only choice . You will be old one day, and I hope you realize now what it could mean to YOU, as you age Your vote for this bill will affect everyone in YOUR family as well from your ageing parents to a child born with a birth defect .. The Govt will decide who can live and who wont its just that simple Whatever decision you make, make it an informed, educated one As I said in an earlier post, I dont have health insurance for myself .. but this plan would NOT be a public option for me
